Social Innovation Sydney 3 Wrap Up #sibsyd

Thanks to all who took part last Saturday, our best yet. A great mix of people, with over 50% new attendees, contributed to a day of rich conversation and insight.

The opening keynote from Robert Fitzgerald set the tone for the day. Many indicated they would have listened to Robert all day as his talk was so insightful. We’re really grateful that he gave us his time and shared his ideas so openly.
Some of the tweets from his talk here

@kcarruthers Fitzgerald: sees a shift from govt control of social innovation to us now for 1st time in years #sibsyd
@totocol People stopped joining organizations and religions, they now join actions and causes #sibsyd

Topics included “leverage points for change” and #EPICFAIL. The Flavour Crusader user test gave the team many ideas. Overall feedback for topics has been very positive.

Photos from the day

Thanks to all the photos taken on the day. See here for some pictures. Feel free to add any pictures you took on the day to our Social Innovation Sydney Flickr group.

Thanks to all who micro-pledged. We raised just over $900. This model proved successful as our community owned this day. Continuing this funding method is an inclusive model allowing us to build based on what/who can afford to contribute.
